The Butte College Foundation recently added Tom Lando to its board of directors. Lando is no stranger to Butte College.

Formerly the city manager of Chico, Lando helped Butte College in its efforts to build its Chico Center campus. He is the owner of Lando and Associates, a consulting firm. Lando is a member of the Chico Rotary Club, the Youth and Alcohol Committee and serves on the Torres Homeless Shelter board of directors. Lando has been a resident of Butte County for 26 years.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, American Society of Public Administration and International City and County Management Association.

"Tom is an asset to Butte College, and we're thrilled to work with him on our fundraising and entrepreneurial projects," said Margaret Hughes, Butte College Foundation president.

Created in 1991, the Butte College Foundation is a nonprofit organization that strives to generate revenue for the college's programs, operations, scholarships, faculty and program grants and facilities. The Butte College Foundation is comprised of board members from Butte and Glenn counties.

"Tom is a welcome addition to the Butte College Foundation board," said Dr. Diana Van Der Ploeg, Butte College president. "He has a keen insight for business issues, community needs and planning which will serve us well."
